Information from the USDA regarding school lunch programs and accomodating special dietary needs. PKU is specifically listed on page 3 of the document. Specific interpretation in the state of Minnesota falls to the Minnesota Department of Education.

- Cold lo pro pizza slices
- Cole slaw
- Waldorf salad (apples raisins, celery, mayonnaise)
- Low pro crackers, biscuits, crisp breads, pita bread, rice cakes with cheese
- Salsa and chips
- breadsticks and pizza sauce

School Tips
- Store and drink formula at nurse's office (to assure it is consumed and avoid peer pressure)
- See if school nurse will mix formula as needed.
- Develope a plan for classroom food lessons and field trips that involve food making.
- Give extra treats to teacher for unexpected parties or snack times
- Send hot foods in thermos - soups, pasta, lo pro sloppy goes (see recipe in recipe section)
- Send sandwich fillings in separate container to prevent soggy bread.
