Hilgenberg TributeThe Sun Shined on the 2009 Puttin' For PKU tribute to longtime friend of our organization Wally Hilgenberg

The 9th Annual Puttin' for PKU 2009 event featured 18 holes of golf at the Ridges of Sand Creek on September 17, 2009.

Golfers

Our golfers are what make our event fun!  We have been fortunate to recruite a variety of talented and entertaining golfers to our event.  For their registration dollars the golfers receive 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, a box lunch, and a top notch dinner.  Registration will be available on this site as the date draws near.  Our tournament is a scramble format and all levels and abilities are encouraged to golf.

 Hole Sponsors

Every year the Puttin' for PKU event is sponsored by a variety of companies and people that are associated with the Minnesota PKU Foundation or families of those with PKU in Minnesota.  Each hole sponsorship comes with a sign at the golf hole advertising the donor's name.   Hole in One holes have the additional honor of sponsoring a competition to win one of this year's great prizes (if one of our golfers is lucky enough to get a hole in one on the designated hole).

Special Thanks to our 2008 Corporate, Family, and Individual Hole and Hole-in-one Sponsors!

Donations

As summer approaches, remember that we will be looking for donations for the live and silent auctions and for hole sponsors.  Historically hole sponsorship (corporate or family) has been $125 with the option of sponsoring a hole-in-one contest for $250.   Sponsors are valued members of our tournament and receive signage at the tee box.  Check with your employers early to see if they would be willing to sponsor a hole.  More information regarding sponsorship is available from Bernice; her telephone number is (507) 386-6214.

Volunteers

Spend a fun day helping out and get to know that families associated with PKU in Minnesota.  A wide variety of assistance is needed during the day or in the evening to make this event the success it has been.  Evening volunteers will be utilized to help with the auctions; daytime volunteers can help at the clubhouse or spend a day on the course helping direct golfers.  A wonderful meal is available to all volunteers; the meal includes menu choices appropriate for our members with PKU.  Below are pictures of our volunteers hard at work!
